Young people's programmes
At Odd Eyes Theatre, we believe every young person deserves access to powerful creative experiences. Regardless of ability, needs and cultural background, our programmes place young people’s voices, stories and visions at the centre of everything we make.
All our projects are free to attend and fully inclusive, removing barriers so that cost, background or experience are never a reason to miss out. Every programme culminates in a public sharing of work. Celebrating what young people achieve matters, and they deserve to feel proud of it.
Regular workshops
Creating Together
Our weekly performance projects using writing, acting and back stage roles to give young people the tools to tell their own story and sustained, meaningful access to theatre and film-making over time. These creative journeys allow young people who would not otherwise be able to access the arts to explore their Self, their cultural and social identity and support their mental health whilst learning and connecting. All projects lead to public performances that the whole group can be proud of.
We run these projects at Odd Eyes Theatre and in partnership.

Floodshare, the play created through Inside Out, performed at Cally Fest in July. Listening to the participants, the play became the pilot for a new series of projects around young house sharers in North London. Read about Floodshare.
Education and partnerships
Embedded in education and youth groups
Several of our projects work hand in hand with youth groups, PRU, secondary and higher education institutions, integrating directly into creative programmes and curriculum (English, Drama, PHSE) and formal accreditation frameworks.
Drawing on Functional Learning principles, Odd Eyes’ methodology places the learner at the centre, using drama-based communication training, narration, photography, film and self-documentary to help young people actively reflect on their own learning journey. When young people have genuine agency over how and what they create, something shifts: confidence grows, curiosity deepens, and, as our partner educators consistently tell us, attendance improves.

Language & Belonging
Finding Your Voice in a New Language
Our programme for young people learning English as a second or additional language draws on the experience of our founding members and on sixteen years of practice working with migrants, refugees and newcomers of all backgrounds. Rather than conventional classroom methods, we use theatre games, movement, poetry and personal storytelling to make language learning feel human joyful, even.
Acting techniques, verbatim theatre and short film give participants a chance to share their own stories and develop real communication skills, whilst Commedia dell’Arte and movement allow those at beginners’ level to express themselves beyond words. Participants are also invited to bring and share games, dance and traditions from their own cultures — a home away from home.
All sessions are led by qualified tutors, many of whom are migrants and English language learners themselves, offering genuine peer support alongside professional guidance.
All Odd Eyes youth projects are free to attend and open to everyone. We are committed to removing every barrier to participation — no experience is needed, and no one is turned away on grounds of cost, background or ability.
